The shared limitation is message removal
TempMailPortal and TempMail.lol both use Hide message in GetaTempMail. Their integrated APIs do not expose an individual-message deletion operation. A hidden item stays out of the current session’s refreshed list, but the upstream provider may still retain it.
This is useful for decluttering a test inbox after you have read a message. It should not be treated as an erasure request. If your workflow specifically requires source deletion, review the other provider profiles and their removal behavior before choosing an address.
A source token is kept separate from the address
Both integrations use a token to retrieve the generated inbox. The browser receives the displayed address rather than the source token. Sharing the address is necessary to receive a message; sharing the source credential is not part of the supported workflow.
The providers still control their services and retention. TempMailPortal describes public disposable mail despite token-scoped retrieval. Do not infer an identical privacy model from the fact that both integrations happen to use tokens.
Provider lifetime does not extend the app session
TempMailPortal describes about twenty-four hours of upstream retention; TempMail.lol free inboxes last approximately an hour. In GetaTempMail, both have a one-hour local session. A longer source lifetime does not provide an address history or a way to restore a previous session here.
Choose an available source based on the task you can finish now. We do not claim one has faster delivery or broader website acceptance. A form’s domain policy, the sender’s queue, and the source’s availability can each affect the result.
A few common questions
Will changing sources keep my existing messages?+
No. Changing source creates a new address and replaces the current local session. Save your result before switching.
Which source is fastest?+
We have not benchmarked delivery speeds. Sender behavior and source availability vary, so this comparison does not promise a delivery-time winner.
