- Compare the submitted address with the address shown in TempMail.
- Check that your one-hour session is still active.
- Keep this tab visible or use Refresh inbox to check again.
- Allow for the sender’s queue and the provider’s delivery rules.
- If the site rejects disposable addresses, use a lasting address or alias.
Check the address before resending
Copy the entire address, including its domain. Extra spaces, a missing character, or a different domain can send the message somewhere else. If you created a new address after submitting the form, the current inbox will not show mail sent to the old one.
Do not repeatedly request codes in quick succession. A sender may throttle requests, and a newer code may invalidate an earlier one. Follow the sender’s resend timing and use the most recent valid message.
Distinguish refresh speed from delivery speed
GetaTempMail checks the source every 15 seconds while the tab is visible. Refreshing asks for the current inbox; it cannot make the sending service deliver faster. To avoid overloading providers, closely spaced refreshes can reuse a recent result.
Maildrop uses greylisting for first-time senders. Its documentation explains that the sending mail server may need to retry, commonly within about 15 minutes. A message is not necessarily lost just because the inbox is empty immediately after signup.
Read the connection state
A connection error means GetaTempMail could not fetch an updated inbox. It does not prove that no mail exists at the provider. Retry after a short wait. If your session has ended, create a new address and submit that new address to the sender.
Some services reject known disposable domains entirely. There is no universal acceptance guarantee. For an important account, use an address you control long term rather than relying on disposable mail.
A few common questions
Will changing provider recover the missing message?+
No. A new provider creates a different address. Ask the sender to send to that new address if you switch.
Why did I receive the welcome email but not my code?+
The welcome email demonstrates inbox access, not delivery from a particular external sender. Check that sender’s address acceptance and resend instructions.
