Temporary means two different clocks.

Your GetaTempMail session

GetaTempMail stores your generated address and cached messages for a one-hour session. A browser cookie reconnects you to that session when you reload. When the session expires, the server removes its local data within the next minute.

Creating a new address ends access to the previous local inbox immediately. Copy anything you need before switching. A browser bookmark does not preserve an expired inbox or extend its retention.

The provider’s message lifetime

Guerrilla Mail documents roughly one-hour message retention. Its upstream session rules are independent of the GetaTempMail cookie, so a provider error or session change can interrupt access earlier.

Maildrop keeps at most 10 messages in a mailbox and deletes the oldest when that capacity is exceeded. Its documentation also describes cleanup after 24 hours without incoming mail and possible eviction during high usage. None of those rules extend your one-hour GetaTempMail session.

Expiry is not a promise of erasure everywhere

Removing a local message or ending a session does not remove copies held by a sender or guarantee immediate deletion from provider systems. Temporary mail is a convenience for short tasks, not a confidential data-erasure service.

If you need an address for account recovery, receipts, or records, choose a permanent inbox or a forwarding alias with a retention policy you understand.
